Boosting your health

The government has recently launched their Better Health campaign, with the aim of encouraging millions of adults to kick start their health and reduce their risk of serious illness, including COVID-19.

As well as the tips and links found on the Better Health site, there are plenty of other ways you can boost your health. These include:

Protecting yourself against COVID-19:

Eating well:

Increasing your activity levels:

Losing weight if you need to:

Stopping smoking:

  • Speak to your GP practice
  • Refer yourself to Stop Smoking Rutland - a free, non-judgemental support and advice service provided by Rutland Community Wellbeing Service
  • Visit the Smokefree website for advice and a free three-step quit plan

Taking up preventative health services:

  • If you are eligible, go along for your flu vaccination to stay well this winter
  • If you receive an invitation for screening or a health check, make an appointment and go along
  • If you are living with a long term health condition, find out more about how to manage your symptoms and condition so that you feel better more of the time
  • If you notice any significant changes to your health that you are concerned about, contact your GP surgery as soon as you can to put your mind at rest
