RCC SEND / inclusion team update

The SEND team are delighted to welcome two new starters to the team. We welcome Lauren Wakefield as a new SEND Case Officer at Rutland County Council. Lauren will be gradually taking on new and current cases, and will be in touch with the relevant families, children and young people if this applies to them. We also welcome Louise De’Ath as a part-time SEND Development Officer. We are also pleased to let you know that our interim Case Officer, Kayleigh Watkins, remains in post until the end of December. In addition, Senior Early Years Inclusion Officer, Jenny Janes, has recently started with Rutland County Council and will be based at Visions Children’s Centre. Jenny is an experienced teacher. Her role is to lead the Early Years Inclusion team to support nursery settings and schools with Inclusive practice. She will do this in several ways by supporting Early Years Inclusion staff to work with settings and schools to meet an individual child’s needs and by providing setting wide training and advice.

The structure chart for the SEND/inclusion service  has been updated to reflect these new team members and helps show how the whole team fit together.

Please remember to use the main SEND helpdesk if you need to contact the SEND service at Rutland County Council - send@rutland.gov.uk or 01572 758280.
