Young Onset Dementia (YOD) App

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust have produced a new smartphone app helping people who have been diagnosed with early onset dementia to better understand their condition and access relevant guidance and Support.

Young Onset Dementia (YOD) defined as the onset of dementia before the age of 65 years is increasingly recognised as an important clinical and social problem with devastating consequences for the patients and those who care for them.

This app can be presented to patient and carers at the time of diagnosis so that in their own time, patient and family members can use guidance to help them to manage all aspects of their life and more importantly signpost them to an array of services and organisations that provide specialist support and information, locally, regionally and nationally.
