To help young carers to overcome the many hurdles that prevent them from accessing education, The Open University (OU) has launched the first UK Carers Scholarships Fund.
The Fund supports undergraduate and postgraduate full fee-waiver scholarships.
You can apply for a bursary of £3,000 for each 60 credits of OU stude, up to £18,000 for up to 360 credits (for a full undergraduate degree).
- Live in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales
- Provide proof of caring from a GP, social worker, local authority, carer organisation or similar source
- Demonstrate that you intend to study towards an OU undergraduate or postgraduate qualification
- Must intend to study at least 30 credits per academic year
