This service is part of LPT’s specialist psychological therapy services which provide:
• Specialist psychological assessments and treatment of people with complex and enduring mental health issues
• Consultations
• Advice and second opinions
• Training for health professionals around the management of mental ill health from a psychological perspective.

Referral Details

Professional referral only. Primary care: GPs, IAPT clinicians, mental health facilitators, alcohol services LPT clinicians eg psychiatrist, RMN, CPN, psychologist, mental health practitioner.

People age 16+ living in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland who have been assessed for the group therapy service and discussed it with their referrer.

Indicators for group therapy include: a history of sexual physical or emotional abuse leading to maladaptive coping mechanisms such as self harm or suicide attempts; evidence of personality disorder diagnosis or traits; anger or vulnerability managed destructively.

They should also show willingness and ability to engage in therapy.
