Families Rutland Information Service

School Admissions

The School Admissions Service ensures that all children resident in Rutland have a secured school place and that support and guidance on the application process is available to parents and carers.

The service is responsible for co-ordinating the annual admissions process for children who are starting primary school for the first time, into reception year group, and for children who are transferring from primary school to secondary school, into Year 7.  There is a national closing date for applications and a national offer day when offers of school places are sent out to parents.

In addition, the service provides information to families who are moving into the area about the schools that are available, how an application can be submitted and what their options are if they are experiencing difficulties in securing a school place.
