Families Rutland Information Service

Early Years' Service

The Early Years’ Service supports all children between birth and five and their families who attend an Early Year’s provision in Rutland. The provision includes: Children in Reception or Nursery class of a Primary School, Nurseries offering full or sessional day-care, Pre-schools, Playgroups and Child-minders.

The statutory responsibility of Rutland County Council is to ensure there are sufficient Early Education places to deliver funded education and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), in a high quality Early Years provision to enable every child to reach their full potential.

Children develop quickly in their early years and their experiences between birth and five have a major impact on their future life chances and our service supports the Council’s aim of ‘Creating a brighter future for all’.
