Bright Sparks Pre School/Playgroup at Empingham

Bright Sparks Pre-school/Playgroup former Empingham Playgroup is situated in the idyllic village of Empingham occupying a room within Empingham Primary School for over 40 years now. Providing high quality Childcare and Education in a well-established Ofsted registered and inspected setting.

The staff have over 34 years experience of how children think and learn, what contributes to develop Confidence, Enthusiasm, Independence, Respect and Resilience to enable valuable skills and learning throughout their lives. This is provided through high quality teaching for children to play, learn and grow in a rich, challenging and stimulating environment in the safety of the Primary School grounds.

We have full access to the amazing facilities on site with our own open plan and free flow outside area to explore and learn in. Access to Yoga, Music and Movement and Dance sessions are also planned into our timetable.

Our excellent transition ratings is through our partnership with the school. Our childen for the final 2 terms of Preschool will access on a weekly basis transition sessions to enable them to feel confident and comfortable in the reception class when the time comes.

Our setting is term time only offering places to children from the age of 9 months to 4 years 11 months, Monday to Friday.

Our provision truly reflects the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage Birth to 5 Matters.

We believe every child deserves the best possible start in life and we will support every child to develop to their full potential. This includes accessing additional support, adapting activities and environments and by using specialist equipment as appropriate.

We consider the individual needs, interests and stages of development of each child and use this information to plan purposeful and enjoyable experiences in all areas of learning.


Some of the Areas, Activities and Equipment to support learning are: 

Indoor and Outdoor themed wooden play houses with kitchen area, wooden car and caravan, mud kitchen, water and sand trays and full wooden explorer unit set in the form of 2 newly built outdoor class rooms. We have access to the garden area, running track, climbing frames, bikes and tractors.

We also have a wide range of play and learning equipment, tents and tunnels, extensive themed book area and large Perspex table for liquid chalk drawing along with many other resources to promote excitment and interest.

Has Provision
Level 3 certificate for SENCO's in Early Years is held by a member of staff. Diploma in Childcare and Education coving Special Needs is held within the setting.
