Pepper’s - A Safe Place

We are your local mental health hub, offering a safe and welcoming space to anyone in our community who is struggling with their mental health or wants to look after their mental wellbeing.

At Pepper's - A Safe Place, there is no charge, no agenda and no judgement. Just an opportunity to break the cycle of isolation, meet a friendly face, take a break, reconnect and have fun.

We offer a range of activities from just sitting, talking and listening whilst enjoying a coffee or a bowl of home-made soup, to cookery and art classes, tai chi sessions for calming relaxation, music making, first-aid training and gardening. It’s all there to help you meet new people, regain your confidence and get you back into the swing of things.

Our centre on the High Street in Oakham is bright and airy with lots of comfy chairs on which to rest and talk, a kitchen where you can make yourself a drink and a computer on which to browse and catch up on the news.

We have several drop-in sessions a week, as well as additional activity sessions and a gardening group. Please see our website for the most up to date timings.

Come when you want, there’s no membership, no payment or fees, just a space for you to enjoy when you feel up to it or need a little company.
