Rutland Dementia Support Service (Age UK)

**Covid-19 statement

In the light of government advice on social distancing and the developing situation we have taken the decision to close Age UK Day Centres and lunch clubs until further notice. We will of course be keeping a close eye on government advice and guidance and will respond in line with this.

In the meantime a helpline has been launched, offering practical and emotional support to those over 70, especially those who are self isolating and live alone.

To contact the helpline, call 0116 299 2239**

We act as a single point of contact for people with dementia living in Rutland, their carers and health and social care professionals. We offer a 6 week intensive support which will identify your needs and agree with you what you want to achieve. We also provide information about services, how to access them and we’ll signpost you to sources of ongoing support to help you when the 6 week period of our intensive support ends.

We run a peer support group and activity group through which you can find advice and support about living well with dementia, and which opens up opportunities to share experiences with other local people facing the same challenges. Please get in touch for details.

We offer MCST (maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy) sessions on Tuesdays, 10am – 12pm (booking required).

On the 4th Wednesday of each month we run a Memory café  - a chance to relax, enjoy listening to a speaker and peer group support.
