This Club is an informal club for gentlemen who are retired, semi-retired or nearing retirement from business and professions.
It was formed in 1974 by members of the local Rotary Club, and continues to meet monthly throughout the year for lunches on Mondays. Twice a year we invite our ladies and partners, widows and former members to lunch with us.
Its purpose it to foster frendliness and good fellowship.
We lunch at a number of local hostelries and the occasional golf club for a two-course meal. For members-only meetings, one of our members usually regales us with a tale or two from their business past or personal interests. Costs are low - annual subscription still only £10 while we try to keep meal costs under £20 (excluding any liquid refreshment members buy themselves).
We have few rules, and a small committee of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, the Immediate Past President and perhaps a co-opted member or two. To save too much of a memory problem, members wear name badges at our meetings. New members are always welcome - there is no application form.
Please contact the Secretary for more information.
