Money worries can impact every area of life: relationships, diet, health, wellbeing and much more, whilst lack of confidence and skills can result in poor decision making abilities. This can keep people trapped in financial hardship for years, causing generational poverty as well.
A new CAP Life Skills group that our church Oakham Baptist Church is opening.
The CAP Life Skills group will be a friendly group where members will discover the confidence and decision making skills that they need to survive on a low income.
The group will start with a community time each week, where members will have a chance to meet others and be part of a supportive community, we will run an eight week course where members will learn practical money saving techniques, such as cooking on a budget, living healthily on less, and making their money go further. It’s all about discovering new ways to live for a brighter future.
The club will be held at Oakham Baptist Church, Melton Road and the first course will run in September 2022.
We want to help people in Oakham and Rutland take back control of their money and live much happier lives, free of financial pressure.
