If you are a parent or carer of a child or young person up to 19 years old, and need information or advice from a public health nurse (used to be known as school nurse), you can now send them a text!

They are open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm (excluding bank holidays).

You’ll receive an automated message back to confirm that they have received your text, and then you’ll receive a text response within 24 hours.

This service is confidential, however...

Your messages are stored and can be seen by other health care staff who follow the same confidentiality rules. If you need help more urgently, contact your GP, nearest walk in centre or dial 111.

Please note that the Chat Health text service cannot receive voice calls or MMS picture messages. To prevent the health professional from sending messages to you, text 'stop' to our number. Messages are charged at your usual rate.
