Adults Rutland Information Service

British Red Cross First Call Service

We are pleased to be able to offer a new service to the adult residents of Rutland County.

This service is called First Call and aims to provide practical and emotional support with post hospital discharge, or assisting people to remain at home, stopping unnecessary hospital admissions.

Practical and emotional support at home will be offered for up to 12 weeks, free of charge. This support may be in the form of telephone calls, be-friending, companionship, help with practical tasks (such as shopping) and attending medical appointments.  During and after this time, if further support is needed, then we will help to facilitate this by signposting to other organisations and assisting with access to other agencies.

We offer:

>      Companionship and social visits by our staff and volunteers
>      Support with practical tasks including shopping
>      Signposting to other organisations for additional support

After 12 weeks, if you require any further support, the service team will help to access this by working with other organisations.

If you wish to refer yourself for this service, please download a copy of the First Call Referral Form from this page.
