Personal Budgets

A personal budget is the amount of money the Council will pay towards any social care and support you need. You can receive your budget in two ways:

Notional budget

Having a notional budget means that the local authority and public health hold the funds and buys the help, support or services specified in the EHCP.

Direct payments

Receiving direct payments lets you choose and buy the services you need yourself.

Direct Payments

Direct payments let you choose and buy the services you need yourself, instead of getting them from the Council.

The payments can be used for things like employing personal assistance, accessing short breaks or respite care, or purchasing aids, adaptations and equipment to help you remain safe at home.

Preparing for Adulthood guide

Rutland County Council and Rutland Parent Carer Voice have put together a guide to supporting you into adulthood.

The guide aims to provide you with information to help you become as independent as possible and live a fulfilling life.
