Bereavement Support

Following a bereavement, people will be looking for support; to talk, and try and make sense of what has happened.

Support is available from a number of organisations, offering helpful information on what to expect and how to cope.

Please remember that many of these services may be delayed in responding to you due to the current demand. They apologise to you in advance.

Bereavement support during the coronavirus outbreak

A number of organisations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have come together and prepared bereavement information and support for families, friends and carers who have lost a loved one due to coronavirus.

The following organisations have also prepared information, advice and guidance specifically relating to the coronavirus outbreak:

The National Bereavement Alliance has prepared a guide to help children and adults keep in touch when they can’t be with someone who may die.

The Association of Christian Counsellors have set up a specific COVID-19 Crisis Counselling Support Service for frontline NHS staff, people working in a residential care home setting being directly impacted by caring for those with COVID-19, and people who have been bereaved during the pandemic.
