Students with an Education Health Care Plan have support with their career aspirations and plans from Year 9 onwards and these are discussed with key workers in school /college and SEN Case Officers from Rutland County Council, at the yearly Annual Review.
Helen Ward, Youth Education and Careers Service Adviser, meets with Rutland school students for a 1-1 careers interview in Year 9 and again in Year 11. These are at key transition times around students starting to make decisions about their career aspirations with GCSE and vocational choice options for Year 10/11 and again moving on into post 16 choices for college places and other learning opportunities such as apprenticeships/supported internships from Year 11.
